Earlier this week Alabama elected Democrat Doug Jones to the United States Senate in a devastating loss to Trump and Republicans who thought Roy Moore, despite serious allegations against him, would run away with a big victory in the red state.
Meanwhile, in West Virginia, Mitch McConnell and Republicans have teamed up to put convicted coal criminal Don Blankenship on the GOP ballot for U.S. Senate.
It’s not surprising since Roy Moore had the support of the West Virgina Republican Party. West Virginia Republican Party Chairman Conrad Lucas and National Committeewoman Melody Potter were not only all in for accused pedophile Roy Moore, but Potter went as far as calling Democrats “Godless” in a speech in Nicholas County.
First, they doubt the nine women who have brought forward serious allegations against Roy Moore of sexual crimes against teenage girls. Now, Potter calls the West Virginians who are registered as Democrats “Godless” in a speech given to proclaim her interest in running for WVGOP Party Chair.
West Virginians deserve better than this. They deserve an apology.
