STATEMENT: CHAIR BELINDA BIAFORE ON TRUMP’S JOINT SESSION ADDRESS

(Charleston, WV) — Donald Trump continued tonight to take credit for jobs he didn’t create and set himself up to break even more promises to the American people than he has. He gloated about his Muslim Ban and his false claim to “drain the swamp.”

Trump has made promises to workers here in West Virginia during his campaign and it will be a sorry thing for us to see them let down.
He touched on repealing the Affordable Care Act and he still has no plan to replace it. Hundreds of thousands of West Virginians are at risk to lose their health care including those who are benefiting from critical care needed for them to overcome the drug epidemic here at home and those battling black lung.
Again his address sounded like nothing more than a fear-filled campaign speech with promises that will be broken by his actual policies.
Trump continued his attack on the media and continued to blow smoke to members of Congress and the American people.
