Self Serving Justice & GOP Manipulating the Statehouse to Serve Themselves
Justice ousts Nick Casey, Carmichael brings in Mike Hall as chief of staff

(Charleston,WV)– Self-serving Governor Jim Justice & GOP buddies are at it again and it’s probably just the beginning. Governor Justice fired his chief of staff Nick Casey because of “too many Democratic ties” after saying party affiliation didn’t matter. Today, GOP Senate President Mitch Carmichael announced he’d filled the position with GOP Senator Mike Hall.

“It’s clear that the Jim Justice and the Republican Party are manipulating the Statehouse to do what is best for them, to serve themselves and not the people of West Virginia,” said Belinda Biafore, WVDP Chair. “Jim and the Republicans were at each other’s throats during the session playing politics instead of getting the work done. Jim Justice has said multiple times that Democrats walked away from him and you know what, when Democrats are serving the people of West Virginia they are serving the people, not the wealthy few and we’ve always said we do what’s best for people. That’s why Democrats couldn’t always get on board with Justice. Justice has lied over and over about not being a politician, not putting political party into play when choosing his staff and moving our state forward. All lies.”

Justice fired Nick Casey by phone while he was on vacation celebrating is anniversary.

Casey told WV MetroNews, “I don’t understand. We were told to operate so that party affiliation did not matter and that is how we operated, and I got fired because he switched parties.”

“I guess we know who is pulling the puppet strings,” said Biafore.

Important to note that Senator Mike Hall did not support Justice’s income tax plans.
