One-Year Anniversary of Republican Vote to Destroy Health Care

Evan Jenkins and the GOP voted to dismantle health care

CHARLESTON, WV— One year ago today, House Republicans voted for a disastrous health care bill designed to destroy the lives of West Virginia families. Congressman Jenkins voted for that legislation, even though he knew it would throw his constituents under the bus.

Belinda Biafore, chair of the West Virginia Democratic Party issued the following statement on the one-year anniversary of that reckless vote:

“Congressman Jenkins actually voted for a bill that hurts middle-class families by jacking up premiums, forcing seniors to pay more, and putting coverage for pre-existing conditions on the chopping block. Jenkins supported a bill knowing full well that it would leave 200,000 West Virginians without health care. Jenkins can’t be trusted because he’ll put his dangerous agenda over people every time.”
