Meet Your Candidate: Booth Goodwin

Brittni McGuire Blog

Fellow Democrat,

As your State Democratic Party we want to keep you updated and connected with your candidates.

Meet your candidate Booth Goodwin and learn more about him and his campaign for governor.

A message from Booth Goodwin:

You have long been a valued and trusted leader across our beautiful state. It is because of this, your commitment to our future and your love for families across the Mountain State, that I want you to be among the first to know: I am running for Governor of the Great State of West Virginia.

For 15 years, I have served as a federal prosecutor. As United States Attorney, I locked up corporate criminals who lied and cheated for personal gain, child exploiters who tried to crush our most vulnerable, corrupt politicians whom we expected to serve us with honor and fairness, those who took advantage of and abused our seniors and the drug dealers who tried to poison our communities.

I’m not going to take it anymore—and neither should you.

I believe every West Virginian has a seat at the table, and everyone deserves to play an active role in shaping what our West Virginia will look like for our children and grandchildren. We must work together.

As governor, I will challenge our government to work better and truly focus on improving the quality of life for each West Virginia citizen, restoring honor and trust to a system so broken by greed and corruption.

Please join me in this “virtual table” on my Facebook page (Goodwin for West Virginia), Twitter (@GoodwinforWV) and our website at BoothGoodwin.com. I want to know your ideas so, together, we can create a vision to grow West Virginia and become an even better place to live, work and raise our families.

I grew up in West Virginia. I went to school here and I’m raising my family here. West Virginia is a special place made up of rich communities of special people who truly care about one another in a way that really no other state’s people can boast.

We have a remarkable sense of community—you know what I mean. It’s that instant connection we have with a fellow West Virginian when we meet across town or halfway around the world. It’s that feeling you get when you cross that state line on your way back home or when you hear the first few bars of Country Roads.

While we have our problems, we have extraordinary promise.

We were born out of the greatest struggle our nation has ever endured and we’ve weathered plenty of storms since, but we’ve always come back stronger and with more resolve.

My wife, Amy and our two great boys, Joe and Sam look forward to seeing you in the weeks ahead.

Until then, may God bless you and your family and may God continue to shine his light on the great state of West Virginia and her people.
