Justice Won’t Pay Taxes, But Donates $22,000 to WV Republicans

Republicans accept Justice’s hush money

CHARLESTON, WV — After Republicans in the state legislature started criticizing Governor Jim Justice for his mismanagement of the state, Justice tried to buy their silence with a whopping $22,000 dollar contribution to the West Virginia Republican Party.

Justice refuses to pay the millions of dollars he owes in back taxes to the state of West Virginia but has come up with $22,000 to silence the critics in his own party.

Republicans up and down the ticket will need to explain to voters why they benefiting from a big contribution from a deadbeat who doesn’t pay his taxes.

“While the silence of the West Virginia GOP is for sale, the voice of West Virginia’s voters will be heard this November,” said Belinda Biafore, chair of the West Virginia Democratic Party. “Jim Justice and every Republican in the Legislature needs to explain how the state’s richest man can continue to avoid paying millions of dollars in back taxes, and still give $22,000 to bankroll Republican campaigns.”
