HOUSE PASSED “TECHNICAL CHANGES” TO “RIGHT OF WORKERS TO FREELOAD OFF OF UNIONS” BILL
Delegate Caputo seeks to name the bill accordingly

(Charleston, WV)– The bill title in question “The Right Of Workers To Freeload Off Of Unions” (SB330) was proposed by Delegate Caputo to explain exactly what the bill does for workers and labor organizations in West Virginia.
Delegate Caputo reminded the body that according to our Constitution they have a legal obligation to provide description of the purpose and contents of whats in a piece of legislation.
“Using the term ‘workplace freedom‘ gives no notice in my opinion of the purpose and contents of what this piece of legislation really does,” said Delegate Caputo. “If we want to pass a bill let’s be honest and quit creating warm and fuzzy names to go home and say we did good things for people. This is not a warm and fuzzy bill, it changes the rights of workers and allows them to freeload off of unions.”
Democratic Delegates Robinson and Brewer also stood in opposition of the bill because of the attack on workers and labor unions in West Virginia. Del. Robinson asked if the “technical changes” were to fix mistakes in the bill that the GOP passed last year.
