GOP Chairwoman Attacks Senator Richard Ojeda For Serving Our Country and Receiving A Military Pension
It’s no surprise that the Republican Party continues to attack our veterans, but those who bravely serve our country deserve better
(Charleston, WV) – GOP Chairwoman Melody Potter continues her attack on veterans by attacking Senator Richard Ojeda for receiving a military pension.
Potter has proved that she is out of touch with hardworking West Virginians many times including during the teachers’ strike when she accused the thousands of West Virginia workers at the Capitol of being from out of state. Now, she’s moved on to inferring that military pensions are handouts and attacking veterans for receiving them after selflessly serving our country.
“Military pensions are hard earned and honestly, veterans deserve way more than that. The West Virginia Republican Party has never fought for our veterans and instead continue to jeopardize their hard-earned pensions and programs, but this is even a new low for them,” said Belinda Biafore WVDP Chairwoman. “Melody Potter has made clear that she sees military pensions as handouts and that is truly disturbing and out of touch. The West Virginia Republican Party has never shied away from offering no protection for our veterans, but also continue to try and take hard-earned benefits out of their hands. This is what Melody Potter and her fellow Republicans think of veterans and they have zero respect for working people in West Virginia.”
Republican leader Melody Potter and the rest of the Republican establishment in West Virginia are out of touch with our veterans and out of touch with West Virginia workers.
