Flip on Roy Moore Shows Mitch McConnell Will Stop At Nothing

Will Capito condemn Moore or fall in line with McConnell?

CHARLESTON, WV — After Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Roy Moore should drop out of the Alabama Senate race following a series of allegations of sexual assault from young women, McConnell and the Republican party are now fully backing Moore in the final week of the campaign.

This move is the latest and most appalling piece of evidence that McConnell will do anything to win an election and cling to power in Washington, even if it means backing candidates like Roy Moore.

Does Senator Shelley Moore Capito agree with McConnell and the Republican National Committee that Moore is fit to serve in the Senate?

McConnell has been terrible for West Virginia seniors and coal miners, and now everyone can see what he thinks about and how he has treated women. McConnell and D.C. Republicans are telling women that regardless of the accusations and the women coming forward, winning an election is the only thing that matters to them.

McConnell and his buddies just don’t care about the safety of women if they are going all in with Moore.

Now that Mitch McConnell flipped on Moore, it’s important for West Virginians to know that Majority Leader McConnell will get behind anyone for political gain, including Don Blankenship, Patrick Morrisey, and Evan Jenkins.

The  Moore-McConnell situation is so toxic that Arizona Republican Senator Jeff Flake came forward to reach across the political divide and endorse the Democrat running against Moore.

“We knew that Mitch McConnell was bad for working families and now we know he’s even worse for women,” said Belinda Biafore, Chairwoman of the West Virginia Democratic Party. “It’s just sick. By McConnell and the RNC turning a blind eye to the serious allegations against Moore, they are telling women that a political win is more important than keeping women safe. It’s up to Senator Capito to speak out against.”
