Disgraced Former West Liberty University President Lands Lead Legal Job Over West Virginia’s Finances
Robin Capehart previously resigned from his position as West Liberty University President as a result of ethics complaint about wrongful spending for personal profit
(Charleston, WV)– West Virginia Republican leadership has hired Robin Capehart as counsel for the Senate Finance Committee even though his past is clouded with financial mistrust after being forced to resign from West Liberty University after accusations of wrongful spending. Capehart left the university after he was believed to have been using a state credit card and university resources to promote his film company’s movie.
“It’s truly frightening that being forced to resign from West Liberty University after an ethics complaint about using university resources for personal profit will land you a lead legal job over our state’s finances,” said Belinda Biafore, WVDP Chairwoman. “It’s not surprising especially since we’ve seen nothing but Republican majority and leadership in this state use taxpayer dollars to fund their own lavish lifestyles and personal profit, but it needs to come to a stop. Enough is enough and West Virginia deserves better. When there is so much at stake for our state they deserve to have leadership and those in charge of our state’s finances that they can trust.”
Capehart left West Liberty University in 2015 after an ethics complaint was filed against him for using a state credit card and university resources to promote his film company’s movie and a vote of no confidence by the university’s faculty senate.
