Democrats Across the State Stand Up for Fourth Of July Weekend

Voter registration drives, canvassing, & visibility events

(Charleston, WV)— The West Virginia Democratic Party launched its “Stand Up Summer” program in June and this weekend marks their first day of action with Democrats gathering at various events across the state.

The goal of our July 4th day of action is to register new voters, inform our communities, and reach out to our neighbors and see how we can help them together to move our state forward,” said Belinda Biafore, WVDP Chair. “As Democrats we love to come together and celebrate the people of West Virginia that we fight alongside every single day. What a better way to celebrate than to register more voters, knock on more doors, and come together to make things happen. We’ve seen the mess that Republican leadership has created in the last 3 years gutting our education, rolling back wages and safety for our workers, and the financial crisis they have got us into. They’ve hurt a lot of people. We use events like these when we have everyone in one place to do something about it.

Stand Up Summer is a program of the Resistance Summer and Democrats across America are coming together to fight back against the attack of the Trump Administration and Republicans in congress and state legislatures.
